Honors Center of Italian Universities - H2CU
MISSION
The new law on university degrees in Italy allows students to easily make use of their academic experience abroad, as well as to enrich their curriculum through an international education.
International exchanges for research as well as teaching purposes are now binding since globalization has become a must: in response to the same forces that have propelled the world economy, universities have become more global self-conscious, attracting students all around the world and networking with foreign institutions. At the same time, the global labor market requires professionals with an international focus and sensibility.
Due to this issue, many projects have been carried out in order to internationalize the research, but all the activities must be better coordinated and registered.
The Honors Center of Italian Universities (H2CU) mission is to further to the maximum extent the opportunities to build an international curriculum.
H2CU was set up in 2004 by the most important Italian universities and CNR Institutes, within the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. The center is responsible for developing and supporting international academic initiatives through affiliations and exchange agreements with major American institutes and research centers such as:
- MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge/Boston;
- Pace University, New York;
- Columbia University, New York;
- Polytechnic University, New York.
